This blog is part of a daily writing practice. And I title it a daily(ish) practice because, well, to be honest it doesn’t happen every single day.
Some days, like today, I’m faced with a blank page and cannot think of a single word. Other days, there just truly isn’t time in the chaos of life. And other days … I don’t know … it just doesn’t happen?
On those days I remind myself that it’s called a practice for a reason, and not perfection. And just because I can’t think of anything to write today doesn’t mean it’s a failure. Tomorrow I’ll sit down with my pen and my notebook again, and again the day after that. And somehow, you can see that the notebook has gotten pretty full.
Forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you’re inspired or not.

P.S. Some other great daily practices: walking, Scripture reading, creativity, gratitude.
