We hiked at Claireville Conservation Area on the weekend. A relatively easy trail, except for a few sections of very deep mud. There were some really pretty views across fields and wetlands, plus a lovely section of woods.
We could hear and see chickadees, nuthatches, red-winged blackbirds, cardinals. We heard but didn’t see frogs and ducks in the distance.
Spring in Southern Ontario means a landscape that’s a thousand shades of brown. But the textures are gorgeous. And there’s something about the neutral tones and the neutral light that I find very peaceful and calming.
