I’ve taken my portable work space with me to a cottage, so that I can do some journaling while away from home. The pages of my notebooks are pre-decorated, and I’m taking the opportunity to catch up on my family journal. (I’ve been neglecting it a bit these past weeks.) My to-do lists are short or non-existent this week, so I’m using my mostly blank Stalogy pages for some little drawings and some hand-lettered quotes. Also, I’m still keeping up with my tracking. My morning pages are here, and I have my mini DIY sketchbook and my creative Traveler’s Notebook along in case there’s a rainy afternoon for some collaging or painting.
Sometimes the very best of all summer books is a blank notebook. Get one big enough, and you can practice sketching the lemon slice in your drink or the hot lifeguard on the beach or the vista down the hill from your cabin.

I could have left it at home. I could ignore it. But the migraine brain craves routine and consistency. And so I take some notebooks with me wherever I go. A portable piece of home and routine.

This is the “vista down the hill from the cabin“.
